Coalition of Reformers, Academics and Foundations to Conduct California’s First-Ever Statewide Deliberative Poll
Hundreds of Californians to gather to weigh in on pressing issues in the state

TORRANCE, CA — A coalition of non-partisan reform organizations, academics and journalists will partner with Stanford University’s Center for Deliberative Democracy to conduct California’s first-ever deliberative poll from June 24-26 in Torrance.  PBS’ Judy Woodruff will moderate the dialogue in the plenary sessions during the weekend. The unique 3-day experience will convene a random, scientifically selected sample of 300 Californians to ascertain their views on legislative representation, taxation, local control and accountability, and the initiative process.

Media are invited to cover all or part of the 3-day poll. To receive press credentials or to reserve a lower-cost hotel room in Torrance, please contact Amy Thoma at Amy.Thoma@ogilvypr.com.
